What is best bang for the buck?
I am looking to do some upgrades to my 01 F150 SuperCrew 5.4 4x4. I have am definately going with an exhaust upgrade. That should run me about $350 or so with taxes. I am looking to keep my costs under a grand for everything. I am also considering a shift kit when I get my tranny serviced at 60k (trany service not included in the $1k max). I currently have a K&N Air cleaner, but I know thats not helping that much. So, I think a cold air induction kit might be the way to go. That brings up the question about which one? K&M, AF1, .... ? Then, I can imagine that if any 2 of these mods are done, I will want to get my chip reprogrammed. I think that in itself is another $300 or so.
So, where might my money be best spent?
Thank you!

You have a K&N - your not going to get much more with a Air kit unless it is a true cold air kit, there goes the $1k for the hood and ram air kit.
I would remove the silencer and open the the air filter cover for the "poor man's FIPK". Then spend about $350/400 on a cat back system. Then another $350/400 on efans. If there was anything left over I would consider a duel program chip or tuner that would allow 89 octane fuel. Pullies would be after that.
Having the 4x4 will temper your choices if you do any serious off roading (you don't want efans coming on if you are going through some water). Having oversize tires will also have a serious affect on performance. Do your research and examine the choices that will go along with how you are going to use this truck.
good luck,
