Price of a 30k mile tune up?

All of my local dealers (So Cal.) are quoting about the same 480- including the tranny flush, radiator flush, cleaning the injectores (is that necessary at 30k?), rotate & balance, fuel filter, oil change, air filters plus all the standard inspecting. What did all you pay? I have an 02 4.2L Auto. Also I need front brakes, there quoting 265. Thanks.

If you have your tranny flushed, go ahead and have them drop the pan, clean the magnet, and install a new filter as well. Just cheap insurance for your tranny.

I dont think that at 30k your injectors would need cleaning.

Fuel filter would be a good idea, theyre only like 10 bucks.

Dealers are very expensive. It seems that 480 is a bit high to pay for this maintence, i would shop around to the reputable quick lubes or other shops that could do this work for alot less. You could get:

complete tranny service : $80-100
Fuel filter bought/installed: $20
Raidiator flush/new fluid: $100 bucks most
Factory air filter: +/- $25
Rotate/balance: $30-$40

I would go ahead and change your brake pads too, so that you dont risk getting into your rotors. Id check to see if they need to be turned too, to get the most life out of them as you can cause theyre expensive. I got new front brake pads and rotors turned at Sears for around $150 bucks, maybe a little more i cant remember.

Dealers are going to be the most expensive--Example:: When i got my drivers side glass broken out, the dealer quoted me at $370 for a piece of glass and 1 hour labor to install. Ouch!
I ended up getting a new piece of glass installed by a local guy for $135.
