Removing gas tanks........

I believe I have water or trash in my gas tanks causing me problems. How hard is it to drop the gas tanks for flushing?
Someone told me I could drop them or remove the bed. Which is easier? Any special tools needed? Is this a job for a professional?

1994 f-150 duel tanks-5.0

thanks

I have not dropped the tanks on a pick-up but the wife's taurus had the fuel pump go bad so that tank had to come down. It was simply strapped up to the body. Two bolts released the straps and then I had to disconnect the fuel filler tube and the fuel lines. It wasn't that difficult. I'm certain it would help to understand the details of what you are working with but a Haynes or Chiltons manual would be an excellent guide.

I'd start with the manuals because they will give you a good feel for what you are getting into before you start.
