Bad Gas-poss. water-please help
I thought I had trash in my gas tank but after talking to a few folks I feel I may have water in the gas tank. I just changed the filter and it started acting up. Noticed my fuel level was about 1/4 tank. I was told that's when water will show up when the gas tank gets low.
question. How can I safely get the gas out of the tank? Will the water ruin the engine?

thanks

Greetings,
You don't say where you are from, but up here in Canada we sometimes will have problems with gas lines freezing because of water. Try and find some methyl hydrate and pour five or six ounces in your tank. This will bond to any water in the tank and make it combustible. It is commonly used for fondue pots and is a primary ingredient in the gas-line antifreeze we have.

I agree with Canuck on this one, get some gasline antifreze and refill both tanks, run a tank about halfway down then switch to the other one and do the same thing. Refill both tanks again (just with gas) if you have a water problem it will go away by doing that. After that the one of the best ways to avoid water coming back or your lines freezing up on you is keep the tanks at least half full or more until it warms up.
