Mpg??

What type of mileage are you guys getting?? I have a 98 F150 5.4 V8 Triton, all Stock as far as I can tell. 83,000 miles.

I just bought this truck and just finished my 3 rd tank of gas. Its a mix of highway and city for each tank. I got 14.2, 14.5, 14.7 I ran the air alot on the first 2 tanks.

Is this pretty normal?? I am not conplaining as I just came from a Full size Blazer with a 350 TBI and got 13 to 14mpg with that.

Thanks

I can honestly say, I've NEVER checked the mileage in 3 yrs of owning my 01, and never checked the mileage on my 99 either

Yeah, that is probly about normal, in fact, i would call it a little on the high side. My fiance gets an average of about 11.5-12 unless its all hiway. My mom's expy gets 12 pretty conistently.

For a stock that is about average. I am getting 14.5/15.5 city and 18/20 highway, but I have a few performance mods and I tend to be easy on the pedal.

'performance mods' and 'easy on the pedal' don't belong in the same sentence, do they?

When I need it, I have the extra punch.

Most items that incrase performance will also tend to increase fuel milage IF you keep your foot out of it. Most of us can't resist pushing the right foot to the floor...

MPG?

Sure makes me feel good! I figure my mileage on every fill up (just a habit, but it lets you know if something is going bad with the truck). I avg. 17 mpg with my 5.4L 2wd '02 S'crew. I live 25 miles from town, so I would say my driving is 60/40 - hwy/city. I live @ the lake, so there are a lot of "slow & inconsistent" drivers and that isn't exactly highway driving. I usually use cruise control and keep about MPH over speed limit when traffic permits. Good luck!

I get on average 17-19 mpg on each tank with my truck. I checked it the other day and I got 18.56 mpg. I'm wanting to put a K&N Fipk on it, but don't have the money. Those things are way too much money.

On my 92 F150 2 wd with a 5.8L I got 15.5 to 16.5 average city/hwy.

On my '01 F150 4wd with a 5.4L I'm getting just over 17 mpg on the hwy. I haven't really checked the city yet. I have a few mod's on it.

I got 14/17 with my 2000 5.4. Marginally less with the new L.

I have the same question. My '04 SCREW 4 x 4 gets 13.5 - 14 all the time. I am easy on and off the gas but do tend to move withthe flow of traffic here in the windy city. I reset the MPG computer at every fill up and have seen 16+ early in the tank but then it drops off, even when the type of driving does not change.

I asked a buddy today who has the same truck but an extended cab and he gets 16 - 17 all the time. He does almost exclusively hiway driving. ANy other '04 5.4 owners?

I do have the Retrax bed cover. It looks nice but I cannot say that it changed the milage.

After throwing on just a Magnaflow muffler I gained 1-2 mpg. Although I have the 4.6l and would expect to get slightly better I average around 17-18 on the hwy
