I bought an 04 in July of this year and have 3500 miles on it. So far my worst tank was 16.6, and the best was 20. This is an extended cab with the 5.4,3.73ls and 4 wheel drive. I'm on the highway about 80% of the time.
BTW, my old 98 with the 4.6 got worse gas mileage then my new truck with the 5.4. The old truck wasn't extended either. If you can keep your foot out of it, you can get decent mileage, but that isn't why you buy a truck anyway.

Gosh.My mileage is really bad compared to others. 04 Supercrew 5.4 with 2400 miles. My trip computer shows me 10.1 miles p/gallon.After I put a Borla system on it went to 10.2 miles p/gallon.Huge increase,eh? lol
I just ordered superchip 1714.Maybe I will do better with it.I also have 20" weld wheels with 305-55-20 tires.the mileage didnt change at all after I put them on.

Thats probably a hair above average...I imagine if you did an all highway run you'd get something like 15.5 maybe 16 if you have a light enough foot.

I get about 12.5 all city, up to 15 all highway (if Im lucky), overall I get about 14MPG.

Also, I wouldnt trust the mileage the computer reads out...if you really want to know what kind of mileage you're getting calculate it yourself.

edit: oops, i guess i posted in this thread already :P

98' E.B. Expy here, I average 14.5 MPG, 3:73 gears, 4WD, and I drive it........! I have dual exhaust, and K/N filter on mine so far......Worst milage I get is 12MPG while the best is 16MPG......I think I lose some mileage because of my 15 speaker sound system, I think the bass interfere's with the knock sensors and make it run alittle on the rich side......

I get about 14 around town , but about 18-20 depending on speed on the hwy. Having a cap helps tremendously!! A lot less drag!
