Idle help, searched already.
Just looking for where i can adjust the idle, tried searching the forum and googling it, but apparently its not that easy i guess?
Recently my father in law took it home and ripped the engine apart, giving it some much needed love, however now, the idle is alot lower then before, he already knew about it, but it started idling low when he had it half way to our place.
I'm assuming i can find a little nut i can turn, like a regular vehicle, my engines bogging out when i accelerate from a stop, it doesn't really effect driving, other then the noise when i first accelerate, but all the same i'm sure thats not a healthy thing for it.
Is the idle adjustment under a plastic show/dust peice, or can someone direct me to a picture, or blueprint of some kind?
Hopefully i don't sound too idiotic, thanks for your help!

There really isn't any idle adjustment on these modern engines it is all controlled by the computer.
However in most low idle cases on these fords it is a clogged/stuck/bad IAC valve (Idle Air Control) It is fairly easy to diagnose. When the truck is running and the idle is messed up lightly tap on the IAC and if the Idle goes back to normal you have found your problem.

yeah, before you do anything, make sure all the naccuum hoses were put on, where they belong, and there are no cracks in any of them. How far did he get into it? Did he remove the throttle body or intake manifolds? Were new gaskets used, or the old ones put on? The fact that it's idling low leads me to think you're drawing air somewhere. If it was a mixture problem, the ECU should take care of it. I'd drive it for 100 miles, afer checking for air leaks, and see if the computer readjusts anything.
It's not really idling low.
See when i put it in gear everything is gravy.
When i press the gas, when just starting out i'll get that bogging sound, and vibration from the engine, however it goes away after a single second or less, depending how hard i push the gas, to acellerate, so im assuming thats the idle unless you guys have a diffrent opinion.
I will check those things you guys told me, and post here to update, as long as i have enough brains to find the IAC.
I hate those IAC's, stangs get dirty too.
Stupid truck and car gremlins.

yeesh..I don't know. If everything is buttoned up, and this was a constant problem at different speeds, I'd take a stab at a throttle position sensor (TPS). Are there any Autozone's up there? A code might be pulled, even if there is no 'check engine" light. How old is the ignition system (cap/rotor/wires/plugs)? Those things are usually my starting points. Then try a new fuel filter, as it's stumbling with very low throttle, and picks up when the throttle is opened wider. Maybe starving for gas.
Maybe, might be one of those thing's i'll have to wait until somthing gives in, not really worth it replacing part after part, I'm sure it'll show itself sooner or later.
Thanks for the help guys.
