New Airintake and Check engine light on...

Just installed an Airaid Intake system with the Poweraide Throttle body spacer on my 5.4L and now the Emissions Control Light is coming on (the one that looks like the engine). The light is staying on the entire time. The truck seems to be running fine but what could be the problem???

I installed everything by the book all the connections are in place does anyone have any ideas? Does it take a few days for the OBD to recognize new air adjustments?

Also my 1714 Super Tuner is going to be here in a day should I wait to utilize it or just do the upgrade to the OBD and see if that works? If I do use the 1714 will it save the data with the Check Engine Light on? I dont want to have problems in 2 years when I go to smog the truck.

Anyone else have this problem?

Drive it 100 miles and see if the light goes out. Your computer may need to do some tuning to adjust for the different airflow. Also make sure the new cover is fitted correctly..no gaps, etc. If the light stays on, get a scan and post it here.

Thankyou for the info, I will drive it for a while and see what happens, its running great like I said no misfiring or lag it actualy is snappier and quicker off the line.

I checked all the seals and made sure it was seated on the throttle body like its supposed to be. Hopefully it is just the computer needing time to re-adjust to the new airflow coming in.

If you have an autozone near you, they can check it for free. They have a code reader behind the desk.

Why don't you read the codes with your 1714's OBD-II code scanner?

Still waiting on the 1714 Super Tuner should be here today or tommorow.

UPDATE:

Called Airaid seems they have different screws that are shorter on the MAS but didnt send them in my packaging and they are sending me some out today. The stock screws are 1/4 inch longer and somehow block the air flow into the MAS. I was also told to leave the negative battery cable off for 1 hour to reset the computer.

Thanks for the info everyone its much appreciated.
