Highway Speed

Hey, New here.

I've got a 2000 Harley-Davidson f150 5.4L.

When I let up on the gas pedal at around 50-60 mph, the throttle realeses but the vehicle motor doesn't slow. The RPM's stay constant as well as the speed for sometimes a couple of hundred feet. Sometimes less. I've had it to 2 ford ealers and neither knew what that problem was.

I appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks.

I believe its because you are in overdrive and the torque converter is locked up.

Thanks.

What could be the cause of that?

It started a few months back.

Bigtruck,

Thanks for your suggestions. It'll be next week before I can get that done. I was wondering, however, wouldn't that have showed a code when I had it in the shop?

Nice looking truck, BTW.

First off try a reset of the PCM. It will again do what you are descibing as it "learns".

My 99 5.4 did the same thing at around 20k miles and the dealer had to replace the valve body in the tranny and update the PCM.

welcome and good luck-
