Setting engine timing

Is this difficult? The Chilton's book I bought doesn't match up with my parts..

I'm guessing theres just some top dead center mark for everything and just line it all up at put the chain on?

Knowing what truck and engine you have, ie 1995 F-150 5.0l, would help us to tell you where to look. May I also suggest putting this info in your profile. I always check the pofile when this info is not provided in the post and your was blank.
