Possible Gas tank problem
94 f-150, 5.0, 45,000 miles
About a 1,000 miles ago my truck was running terrible. Ended up being the filter. The gas looked like chocolate milk when I poured the filter contents in a glass.
Ran like a champ until the other day. Started jerking and cut off. Changed the filter and it's going great. This time the filter contents looked clean.
Did I get some bad gas and this will take awhile to filter out. Or possibly a rusty tank. If it's tank rust, how can I flush it out.
Thanks

i think that gas tanks have a coating inside that keeps them from rusting unless the tank has been dented then the coating may have been broken and it will rust in that area. you might have water in your gas tank or some one may have put something undesireable in there (any enemies?).
some type of fuel treatment might help

BSA,
Sounds like you might need to drop the tank.
I dropped a fuel tank on a buddies 91 Chevy and found that the coating on the inside of the tank was indeed flaking off. We flushed it out, and also replaced the filter on the fuel pump
pick-up. Did this about 4 years ago and no problems since.
