Spark plug coils

I had the #4 coil on my F-150 go out and ended up having the dealership rplace the coil and the plug because I couldn't figure how the get to the thing. Now the #2 coil went out on my Expidition. How easy is it to change out because I can not find a manual at the local auto parts? If this is going to be a normal occurance than I need to learn to do this on my own. Thanks for any help.

#2 is fairly straight forward on an F150, which I think has the same engine compartment as yours. You need a 7mm, six point socket with a 6 inch extension, 1/4 inch drive. You'll see a brass looking bolt that holds the coil in place. Remove that and slightly twist the coil out of the hole. Use plenty of dielectric on the new coil and never seize on the bolt as you replace. The coil electrical connection is a clip release underneath. Just squeeze and pull straight out.

Good luck. I'm down to about 10 minutes per coil...
