Where can I find the legend to these casting numbers on my head?

Is there some sort of book that shows me which are compatible?

I hve a 4.6L engine, the head that came off it says 5.4L ESSEX 35. I hear this is normal since the 5.4 engine has the same head just didn't bore and stroke or something..

Anways, this replacement head I bought says 4.6L ESSEX 23 and looks identical and has the same number on the cam sproket. How can I find out for sure whether this head is right?
