Yeah...that sounds like a great idea! I will look into that. However, i fear, that the truck is not anything close to the way it was when i got rid of it. I say this because i had 4 hub caps and 2 repair manuals i was going to give them, and they never came by to get them.

Yeah, I agree with your concerns. Some people use and abuse their vehicles.
You may find it in pretty sad shape and it will be a labor of love to get it back to the way it was when you had it. Or you may have to find a comparable truck to what you once had.
I was thinking about looking for my grandfather's truck. It was a 1970 F-100 with a stepbed, 302 and a three on the tree. I don't know if my father still has the VIN written down anywhere. He sold it twenty years ago to someone that worked in a refinery. So between being parked under a cooling tower and being on the Texas Gulf Coast probably has not been kind to the truck.
Anyway I hope you find it in decent shape.

You never know. Fords seem to hold up pretty well, body wise. My grandfater had a 1972 Chevy pickup, that now i wish we still had. It had terrible rust holes though, and it was taken care of at least a little. That 1985 F-150 though was a jewel i didnt know i had. Now, i HAD to trade it to upgrade to my new 96 Ram 4x4, which was an EASY trade at the time. The Ford was all original, owned by an old man that died, had 150,000 miles, a ding in the fender, but the upholstery was immaculate.
