Question Spring-lock fuel lines are STUCK!

I'm having a lot of trouble getting my fuel lines disconnected at the rail! (86'; 5.0; EFI) Had the engine out about 5 years ago and the lines came right off. I have the "special" tool. This time, I can feel the tool engage the garter spring but the line just won't pull out. It will rotate back and forth slightly but that's it. Is there some sort of trick that I haven't figured out?

Thanks.

Yes,

you need a better tool probly. If you have those plastic removal things, get the metal ones. I had to remove tranny lines from my radiator with a tool like that. I had hell getting it to work. I had the plastic ones, never did get it off, just took off the extension line with my radiator. If you are using the metal quick disconnect tool, then disregard my post.......just something to think about. Just don't get frustrated...if you damage that line by jerking, pushing, prodding, etc, you KNOW what that means.

try too get a good twist on the line and actually push it on
farther before you put the realease tool in seems to help
crack loose the orings so lines will separate
usually someone will fight with a line that won't let go
have someone else try it and bingo falls apart for them
