To fix or not to fix?

I have a 1993 F150 4X4 (302) with a leaky rear main seal. It doesn't leak bad, about 1/2 quart every 3 to 4 weeks.
My question is should I relace the seal? I have heard it will solve the problem, but then others say it will come back , possibly worse.
What would you do?

What shape is the motor in? Does the leak bother you? Is this your only means of transportation? If it were mine and I had the time ide fix it.But,if the motor is on its last leg and needing a rebuild leave it alone.Or,if you have another ride then yes,fix it.If you do the job correct then you wont have to worry about it leaking again.
