Added Horsepower!!!

What are some easy, affordable items that i can bolt on under the hood for added horsepower? I am getting a true dual exhaust system put on with 2 flowmaster 40s....would that add any HP or gas milage? Thanks for any help you can give!

I think the #1 affordable item would be electric fans.

E-fans, FIPK, chip (usually requires premium fuel though)...would be a good start.

LB,

Unless you add headers to the mix you will not gain the max from the true duel. By true duel I mean one pipe for each bank connected from the exhaust manifold going through individual cats and mufflers and exiting through individual tips. If I wanted to nit pick I would also throw in that they have to be of equal length but that is very expensive to do on our trucks becasue of the gas tank.

Regardless if your truck is still stock I would not spend extra for true duels. Find a good cat back system and install that.
The next mod would be a chip or programmer, then an air inlet system like Airforce one. Headers and e-fans next.
Don't forget power pulleys they like the e-fans free up power. I can not use them becasue of the winch on my truck. I need the alternator running at max at as low an rpm as possible to work the winch. As far as the order in which you add them that is open to debate. But as long as you add all of them it doesn't realy matter.

Chip/tuner, air intake kit, and exhaust. This is phase 1 of most HP per dollar.

I like the look of the dual exhaust out the rear...so you think i should buy 1 muffler of my choice and have it si/do and take it to my local muffler shop and have them custom make me an exhaust. Dont they use Stainless pipes at a muffler shop? would that be the best way to go with this project?
I have a 97 4.6l
