Misfire or Inject failing...

I know that my 5.4L engine has either a mis-fire or injecter problem but I do not get a check engine light. I disconnected the battery after I re-gapped my spark plugs.

Should I be getting some codes for mis-fire or an injector problem and if so, how long do I have to wait?

I pulled each COP connector one at a time and each one made the engine mis-fire worse except for #4. I think the problem is in that area. That COP was replaced twice due to the leaking heater hoses on the rear passenger side of the engine. The heater hoses were getting hot and the #4 COP connector is a bitch to get off so I will try it again when the engine cools off.

Oops, vacuum leak. Crankshaft air intake hose was not plugged into the elbow on the drivers side.
