Idles high

My 2002 Screw, seems to idle abit higher than what I'm used to with previous vehicles.
A mechanic at work said thats normal for these Fords,
do I believe him or not?

thanks

Generally on the 5.4 I'd say your idle should generally be around 600-700 RPM when warm.

running at 600 at running temp in gear.
Just seems abit high, but I've never had a Ford.
haven't had it in the winter yet, but seems like it would
make the tires spin when at a stop light
