engine swap
engine swap
My Grandfather bought an f-150 extended Cab 5.0 liter fuel injection v8 new in 95. Its got 250,000 and its on its last leg. The transmission had work done on it around 80,000 miles and its had its fluid and fuilters regularly changed but its running rough as well. He was never impressed with the power of the 5.0 liter. He would like to swap the engine to a 5.4 liter. He's fairly knowledgeable about cars, and though he likes the feel and look of his 95 better than my 99 he is envyous of the power of the 5.4. His truck looks as though its brand new. What else besides the engine, transmission, and computer would he have to change. He understands the radiator and Hoses need replaced, mounts,etc.. Has anybody attempted this and if so how did it turn out? Though we have not measured it appears the 5.4 will fit since he has got so much space around the engine. Any replies would be great
I swapped my entire powertrain in my 2002 S'cab to that from a Lightning.
I have available EVERTHING he will need. Engine, Trans (w/ mild shift kit), PCM, Wiring Harnesses, Air Cleaner, Control Cables, even the driveshaft.
Assembly has 11,400 miles and is in perfect condition.
E-mail me with an offer I can't refuse.

he'd have to replace EVERYTHING plus you'd have to be good at fabrication,engine/tranny mounts, and good enough to get em dead on,or have enough money to spend on payin somebody to do it,i'd go with a 351 or a ho 302 or somethin that was around in that truck's time to make it cheaper and easier
