lowering a 4X4, need input

i'm thinking about lowering my truck, it is a 97 F250LD 4X4
i use it on the highway only, and i travel a lot. alaska to florida
lots of miles lots of time! i usually travel pretty fast85mph>
the reason i thinking of lowering it is for stability. thwwd comes into play in all those mountain passes(snow storms) and in those real heavy rains, has shift on the fly. just wanted some opinions THANKS

Save your money, you arent gaining much by dropping it. 4x4's arent that much taller than 4x2's anyway. If you want a better way to match stability of a 4x2, get a slightly wider tire. Otherwise, you are talking about like a 2" drop......in fact, you could get a shorter AND wider tire...youd be golden.
