4.6 engine cut out

F150 with 4.6, 140,000 miles. Engine will cut out like the ignition is shutting off or no fuel. Jerks the truck pretty bad. Does this randomly and occasionally will die idling but starts back up. Changed plugs, wires, and fuel filter, went away for a few days and came back. seems to be more prevelant at town speeds not on the highway. Thanks for any help.

Might be a vacuum leak, I have had problems before like you explained, cleaned MAF, throttle body,....etc... and the last thing I found was collapsed PVC line elbows.
The PVC valve on the pass side valve cover has a plastic line that goes around and back up to the throttle body, there is a rubber elbow at each end ( one into the PVC and one into the back of the throttle body, check them and replace with some thicker hose. Good luck.

Check engine light does come on, it is at a dealer as I right this to see what the code is. Unfortunetly we do not have a auto parts store in town with a code reader. I did chech the pvc elbows and they are in good shape.
