Question rebuild

my truck has over 230,000 miles on it. 98 4.6.....i changed the plugs the other day and most of them had oil dripping off of them. how much does it cost to get a rebuild? or how much would it cost to get a 5.4?

Were the plugs fouled or was the oil from the head gasket. Changing engine size is a real pain. Need new electronics, ETC. I would look into a long block from a good after market rebuilder or one of the internet dealer parts places. Long block will have a warranty and would be an easy switch( should only take a day or two)

Sounds like destroyed rings.

But you may want to try AutoRX. If its just build up in the ring packs, this will clean it out. Might save your engine!
