Question Check Engine Light???

Hey Everyone,

I have a 1997 f-150 4x4 with a 4.6 and my check engine light came on 2 days ago. I went to Autozone and they hooked it up to the computer and it said that the fuel mixture on bank 2 is running to rich. What could be the cause of this? I haqnged the air filter and put injector cleaner in the gas tank nothing has helped yet. I've also noticed when driving down the interstate when you start to pull a little grade the truck kind of stumbles like the moter cuts out a little bit, but when it shifts down it stops. A few months ago while spotligting deer got on the brakes preety hard to stop at a field and when i stopped the truck died. it started right back up. it has done that twice now.

I appreciate any feedback

Thanks

For diagnostic assistance, you need to provide the exact code numbers.

The "summary" that the drones at AZ often supplies is pretty much useless for determining WTF they are talking about.

You have multiple problems, including the spotlighting of deer...

i had this weird problem where my truck would just die ussually on decell down a hill happened maybe 4 times in 6 months then finnally i got the 02 sensor slow responce code put in new 02s and no more problems.

rich on bank 2 could just be a bad 02 sensor on that bank
leaking injector could cause it too but less likely

if your a gamblin man i'd just replace the 2 upstream 02s also check the wires to see if something shorted out or caused an open circuit.

you prolly only need to replace bank 2 sensor but i always do mine in pairs figure if one got dirty or when bad the other one would soon too.
