Which thermosta? 160 or 180?

Which thermosta? 160 or 180?

hello i was on hypertech's website and they had 2 thermostats available a 160 and a 180 degree. which one should be used?

OEM temp of 195 is the correct one to use.

well i was just wondering because hypertech recommended using one of these thermostats when using the tuner but did not say which one.

180* is probably the one they're referring to.. 160* is way way to cool.

180

they do this to trick the engine into thinking its cold therefore adding more fuel. have you bought the hypertech tuner? believe they tune at WOT. if you don't have it yet, buy the superchips, no thermostat change. 195 is the one to run, engine is more efficient with that stat.

Yes, not only is the 160 and possibly even the 180 too cool, many Ford PCMs will do strange things beyond increasing fuel flow if the temp does not come up far enough, don't risk it, you might spend hours trying to solve a seemingly unrelated problem.
