1987 F-150 idling problems

I know a guy that has an 87 f150. He's having problems w/ it right now. He says it will idle at 2k rpms and that is as low as it goes. he's got the 302 EFI engine. Anybody have any place as to what he should look at? Thanks

My best guess, and best place to start, would be with the Idle air control valve.. These things are notorious for gumming up and causing high idle, low idle, or no idle, or a mixture of all three.

Unbolt it and clean it with throttle body cleaner and qtips.
I have had problems with these things on the last 6 vehicles I have owned from 87's to 99's plus two company work vans.
I wonder how many thousands of dollars Ford has made off of people to fix idle problems caused by IAC's
