cylinder 8 misfiring

I have had a problem with water leaking into my sparkplug housing from the hood and causing a misfire. I usually blow out the water with air and the misfire clears up. this time it hasnt cleared the misfire for cylinder 8 up. I have swapped out cop with other cylinders and installed new sparkplugs but the codes still read #8 misfire..does anyone have any advice? thanks, Bart

Pull the plug and examine it. You most likely cracked it.

I just installed a brand new plug after I switched several new plugs around and it still misses. I switched the original coil from #8 to #1 . would the code still show #8 missing from stored memory or would it switch to #1 if the coil was bad?

I searched this forum for misfires and the common denominator is a bad coil. I have checked the primary and secondary resistance but they are in tolerance. does anyone know another way to test the coils? thanks, Bart

If the coil was bad the misfire would follow the coil. If the plug is bad or the wires or the PCM the misfire will stay put. Clear the codes and try again. If the miss stays put then it is not the coil. Have you examined the wires for a short to gorund?
is the connector seated properly or is it broken?

Disconnect the battery, turn your headlights on to drain any power left in the truck, leave it disconnected for ten minutes, then reconnect the battery. Turn your lights off, too.
