Well, this is the first thing I have ever noticed wrong with my truck...not sure what's happening...

Anywayz, here is the situation. When I am driving slightly more aggressive than regular (pedal not floored but not being feathered either) My engine revs go up normally to 3100 then something happens and it drops down to 2600 then comes back at an even more frenzied pace till 5000. From there everything is normal...

If someone can please explain the 500 RPM drop and then the sudden "Kick in the Pants" my truck gets I would appreciate it...

P.S. this happens in gears 1-3 (i haven't been crazy enough to get my truck up to 3100 in OD (would be going at a fairly alarming rate for a 5000+ lbs. battering ram.

 

That was happening to me while in park; replaced pcv with hose and got it fixed.

I just went out and checked if I had the problem while in park... There was no rev drop while in park or neutral while my engine was warm or cold... Could it still be the same thing or is there something else i'm missing?

 

do you have the auto tranny? i have the 4r70w with 5.4, and at lite throttle it kinda hesitates right before it shifts, drops down about 500 rpm then kicks right back in like normal. does that sound like what yours is doing?

 

It is exactly what mine does...but always at the same RPM level (3100)
