" Rattle " snake of an engine, Help.

My 4.6l is finnally running right and not stalling during idle thanks to alot of help and comments that I got from this site, but now I'm left with a rattle that seems to be coming from the pass.side of my engine poss. around the valve cover area. I have listened with a auto-stelthoscope and read codes, checked tightness of plugs with exception of the pass side firewall plug because I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to get it out aside from taking alot of stuff apart.
Could the sound possibly be caused by this one plug? The sound isn't constant, sometimes it occurs when I'm giving it gas, sometimes it it does it when I let off the gas and if I tap the pedal it stops. The trucks performance is been good through all of this its just annoying and scary sounding. I know its hard to say what it is without hearing it but does anyone have any sugg?

how loud is it from within the cab? does it sound like a chassis rattle or just a tinny rattle like something from the exhaust, i know ford has always had difficulty making heat shield welds onto exhaust commponets last, grr at ford for that

its a tiny rattle that comes and goes, when it comes I can tap the gas and it stops. any cures for this if it is in the exhaust, and where can I look or what can I do to correct this aside from taking to muffler shop? Thanks.

I know what it is. I have the same problem. What my noise turned out to be is the exhaust hanger that mounts to the tailshaft on the tranny....as far as getting it fixed, im still working on it.

Is that hanger visible from underneath the rig, something easy to get to? I'm gonna try to go crawl around today to see what I can see, I just didn't want to try to find out where it was coming from while the motor was running.......SPLAT.
Thanks Guys

yeah, you can see it without too much trouble. it looks like the hanger has some rubber inside the square tubing that makes up part of the hanger.
