Hi,

My mechanic just put a double platinum Autolite plug in my truck.. the other 7 are Motorcraft single platinum.

I hear these are the same brands basically.. My question is: The double platinum is misfiring and the truck basically is just running on 7 cylinders.

Is this plug type the problem? I pulled the plug and it looked like it had never evne fired.. was just wet and clean.

If you know for sure which cylinder is mis-firing then swap that plug with the plug in another cylinder and see if the problem moves.

You might test the coil pack first if you have those.
