98 f150 4.6 lt my trany seems to stay in 1st gear up to 4 thousand rpm and sometimes it still stays till i let off the gas. ( when i step on it) could this be bad (cheap) tranny fluid? it only has about 75k miles. i do have the hypertech programmer thought it might help but didnt. anyone have any answers?

how much throttle are you talking about when you say "when you get on it" ? If its WOT (wide open throttle, pedal to the medal, etc) then you should expect it to shift at higher RPMs like it is doing.

Maybe Im just reading your post wrong
