Difference in Dyno's

I have heard from several sources that there are a lot of difference in dynos, as much as 10-15%. I tend to believe this from the graphs I have seen posted from trucks with the same mods or no mods at all.

I know that every truck is different and that temp and humidity are factors, but what say ye?

Most people use dynos to test before and after modification...on the same dyno and hopefully during the same strapdown.

There is a difference between dynos...the best one that I have seen is www.rototest.com

Of course there are only about 2 in the USA, the majority are in Europe and are used by the OEM's there. It is basically an engine dyno that you hook to the axles. That way you do not get losses from the strapdown and variablity of HP/Tq readings due to tire pressure differences.

Other than that, Dynojets and Claytons are the standards in the USA. I have heard that Dynojets are very consistent unit to unit, but that could just be the Dynojet marketing team doing there job.
