Question HELP asap!! re:4wheel drive

Please help, just put a remanufactured engine in my 1999 Ford F150 truck ( 5.4) It is a ATK engine. Got the truck home and the four wheel drive will not work, the light comes on but it's not activating. Any ideas would be appreciated. maybe they forgot to hook something up?? I have no idea, just that I spent over 5,000 dollars and now this!! Need any help asap, Thanks!!

When you turn the switch to 4 Hi do you hear any type of "clicking" sound?

Do you have Electric or Manual shift on the fly? Quick test; Switch to 4Lo and see if the truck is in 4Lo. Ie. It revs high but doesn't move fast. If that is the case then it is likely that the T-case is OK. Look on the firewall behind the battery. There are 2 solenoids. Make sure they are plugged in and the vacuum hoses are connected. Trace the vacuum lines back to the engine to be sure they are plugged in. Look at the front axle to be sure the lines are also plugged in.
