high rpm sqeak

hey fellas

got a 2003 5.4 and when im at a stop and smash it, just as she is about to change gear at around 4rpm a quick sqeak during the break in response of the tranny, didnt know if it was a belt or what, but just wonderin'

any info would be appreciated

Quag--Good to hear from you again.

That sound is probably just the Accessory belt. Have you done anything to the tranny? They usually don't make any noise unless some sort of shift improvements have been made. If it is a big deal, you can get a gatorback belt to grip the pulleys a little better. I, personally, would rather slip the belt than break a pump or aternator shaft...Something has got to give---may as well be the cheapest part.

Sounds like the belt. I have the same problem, and the belt fixed it.

Definately a belt

Apply tire shine or any plastic/rubber conditioner to the grove side of the belt. Whenever I install a new belt, a conditioner is applied. Get many more years/miles out of it

It's a common post here. The Goodyear Gatorback belt is a simple fix to an annoying problem.
