Radiator
Does the 98 Expedition have a radiator cap or just the recovery tank cap. I flushed today and as a little nervous I could only put about 2.5 gallons back in. I only released the the drain valve. Did I leave water in the system? I know it is a dumb question.

As long as that 2.5 gallons was 100% antifreeze, you'll be fine.
The block and the rest of the system holds about 2 gallons itself, so if that part was 100% H2O, you now have just a tad over 50-50 mix.
