Woo Hoo 1/4 Million Miles

The beast just rolled 250,000 miles this morning. I bought it in early 98 as a lease forfeit with 32k on the odometer. The only problem I have ever had was the PCV boot failed on the rear of the manifold causing lean codes. I've changed the oil every 60 days and the transmission and differential fluids every 6 months since I drive it so much. It's had the infamous Windsor piston slap on cold mornings since some time in 99, but she's still purring like a kitten and shining like a black diamond.

Now that just makes me

I now have 150,000+ miles on the engine. Had to replace the trans but it is good to know my engine should have a lot of life left in it.

Unhappy

I have a 99 250 super duty with the 5.4. At 33000 I had a bebuilt engine put in because both heads were leaking. Now I have the cold piston slap but it runs quite and strong after it warms up. Also now at 52000 It is getting a master cylinder and slave cylinder for the clutch. I like the truck and plan on keeping it a long time but I am not real happy so far with the problems I have had.

I'M ALMOST THERE!

WOW! I'm suprised I haven't heard from you-I posted here last week about a '97 I just bought with 241k miles on it.

I am still amazed that at 241k miles, the PO hasn't replaced A THING, and his maintenance schedule was about the same as yours. It still runs as good or better than the '97 with 75k that I just sold.

Good for you!
