Electronic motor mounts question

This has nothing to do with Ford trucks but a co-worker has a 2000 Nissan Maxima. The electronic motor mounts are bad and I wanted to see if any mechanics here know if this is common and how much it should cost.

Here is his post on a Nissan site (which he has not gotten any replies to):

"I was quite supprised when I was told that my 2000 maxima had the electronic motor mounts burnt out. One, I never heard of an electronic motor mount and two, I didn't think that it prevented my car from starting. I did a little research and found out that there is a Techinical Service Bulletin out about it (01-010) They told me the cost to repair it would be around $1000. Has any one else heard of this or had it happen to their car??"

The only thing I know about the maxima is that thieves like the headlights, a lot.
