idle at start up

I have a 93 F150 with the 302. When I start it at a cold start it will rev up and then almost die, but it won't die. Then it comes back and runs fine. Please help. Also when I pull my trailer I will take it out of OD. When I do this it will spark knock real bad. If I leave it in OD it doesn't spark knock as bad. Any ideas. Thanks

Sounds like the Idle Air Control motor. Don't know where it is...but that is what it sounds like. It keeps your truck idling when you are not driving it. It opens and closes to just the right amount to let just enough air in so it will idle at low RPM when the butterflies on the TB are closed.
