6.0 diesel
You want the scoop on the 6.0? Go to a site like TDS that has a lot of 6.0 owners that use their trucks for everything from daily drivers to heavy, heavy work trucks and a lot of RV guys towing big convention and 5'rs.
Most 6.0's rock. They are making a lot of power and in regards to the tranny's, try to find someone that has blown one up pushing 400+ HP and 600-700 lbs of torque. most would agree they can't wait for the aftermarket to get into the trannies, but for now they are doing very well.....

If you want more of the low-down and what sounds like a big, ugly mess to me - go to Dieselstop.com - they tell it all. As far as I can tell, the introduction of this new diesel is absolutely the worst truck embarassment Ford has ever seen. Doesn't even seem to be Navistar's fault although that is a hotly debated topic. It does seem to be Ford's engineering/software development plus fuel injector changes that are the main culprit. Doesn't matter to me as I am not in this market, simply a cautious consumer that is getting a little scared of Ford's new products lately. Seems like they have taken the GM path - let the customer beware of new products as things get ironed out. I can't imagine a better way for Ford to leave the door open to foreign competition.
