Coolant Freeze Plug?

I was talkin to one of my coworkers today about where to mount the temperature sender for my electric coolant gauge. He said that there should be some sort of plug (like that of a differential fill plug where you just put a ratchet directly onto the plug) that you can take out and simply screw in the sender...

Just wondering if my 4.6L has one of these? If not, where is the best place to mount my coolant temp sender?

Thanks!!!

If there is one it might be in the front of the head( not sure which side) another place might be on the intake manifold.

That is where i plan on mounting mine.
If you look at the front of the Engine just to the right and behind the Alernator on the coolant passage you will see a plug with some sort of sealer. Remove that plug and use that location.

I cant seem to find the plug... I have two coolant temp senders on the left side behind the alternator, one for the gauge already in the dash, and one for the PCM. On the right side behind the alternator there is the thermostat, and i cant find anything else.

You will have to get a T fitting and share one of the holes.

I am thinking I might try one in the block drain. I am interested in seeing the difference in temps from top to bottom on my 5.4
