Unhappy Coils on 1997 4.6 L

I have a 1997 F150 with a 4.6L (200K miles). The truck has proven worthy, other than recent problems with the coil packs. All wires have been replaced, and it is currently on its 5th new coil pack. I've taken it to Ford (recently telling me that my p/u had water in the fuel as well), and the coils have been replaced. But, just the other day, a few hours after one coil being replaced, it blew again causing severe missing! My question is whether anyone has experienced this phenomena, and what they did to solve the problem.

My dash is like a christmas tree-lighted up with check engine lights and what not. EGR flow code. After taking it to Ford, check engine came on again. Does this have anything to do with the problem I am experiencing?

Typical symptoms of a shorted wire loom, not the coils themselves.
The shorted wiring loom will keep the coils from firing.
