Thanks OLDGRAY.
Do you remember the torque speck for these bolts?

Called JBA today and they are going to send me out the header bolts. I should be able to install by sat. I am suppose to get the transmission installed on friday so by the end of the weekend I should be set...

10 hours??? I think you should have removed the starter. Seriously this took less than 3 hours. Mine only had about 12,000 on it when I did this but it wasn't nearly this hard.

time limit

Hi gearhead. If you figure the time it took to jack up the truck, remove the wheels, remove the inner panel,it takes some time to do all this, also I had to cut off the exhaust pipe bolts .Tell me how did you get the bolts torqued??I had a hell of a time, the torque is so low you want to be right..those alum.heads only take 13 to 18 ft lbs.of torque. and I thought I was going to blow up the truck trying to get the egr.pipe loose.any way Idid it all myself with only my old ladysyelling to help me..HaHa. I matched all this up to a set of Ravin z-55. cat back what a nice sound. Then to top all this off,a drunk totaled it while I was working. any way good luck and keep safe.Oh yes WLF the torque is 13 to18 ft lbs....Oldgray

Oh yeah, I didn't have to cut any bolts and didn't figure in the alcohol factor. That explains it.

I haven't tried the big dog but do have experience with a 6 lb. poodle laying on the middle of my chest while I'm on the creeper.

Hay guys, thanks for all the help and info. Have had a lot of projects lately with the new transmission and electric fan install. This weekend was the last camping trip of the year so I just may try to get this done next week.
Again, thanks.
