alternator

Anyone got a rough idea as to how much it would cost to change the alternator on an 89 F150? Parts & labor.

Most were 5.0 liter in that year. Alldata shows .8 hrs and 1.2 hrs labor for the replacement. Find out the mechanics labor rate per hour and if they charge a minumum 1 hr.

Parts cost will vary depending on the amps, re-mfg or new etc......

Autozone retails $60-$130 on their alternator.

Good Luck!
