Curious, does the K&N air filter provide provide filtration as well as a paper filter?

as per my experience so far, i can tell a difference in my performance since i put one in. i guess it just varies per person, per truck.

I bought a K&N and installed it in my truck simply because I saw how well the K&N filter worked on my Yamaha Raptor 4 wheeler. After a hard day out on the trails the K&N on my Raptor will be so coated with dust that I can scrape it off with a flat tip screwdriver BUT there will not be ANY dust inside the intake(wish I had a K&N for my nose). I figured that was as good a job as any filter would be able to do.

I clean and reoil my truck K&N every other oil change. You should see the dirt that comes out of it, but again, none in the intake.

i use a 50/50 mix of simple green and water in a squirt bottle on my engine when i clean it. It looks great after everything is scrubbed down and rinsed off. but applying tire dressing is a little risky isnt it? Doesnt it make everything greasy? Do you wipe it on with a rag or spray it straight on?

Anyone ever seen an OuterWear filter cover that will fit over the K&N after proper oiling? This is what worked on the Kart motors best over the years. K&N ruled that world for sure.
