Got a 99 Expedition with the 5.4. A while back I had a leak from the coolant lines that lead to the rear AC/Heater unit and had to replace the lines going back there. Ever since then the AC is weaker than it used to be. It used to cool down within a few minutes and get real cold. Now it blows luke warm air for 15 minutes or so and never gets really cold untill the air inside has cooled off some. t takes well over a half hour to get to that point.

I was thinking about trying the do it yourself freon recharge kit. I believe it was 134a and the price was around $30-40. I've seen them at target. I was wondering if anyone has done this or heard anything about it.

 

I'll be willing to bet someone took a lunch break instead of pulling a deep vacume on it when they did the work...take it back
