best oil?
mf150, before you take that Amzoil back, lets look at some numbers. Amzoil numbers listed first and M1 listed second. Viscosity@40C 59.0 compared to 58.3, Viscosity Index 163 compared to 160, Flashpoint 444F compared to 430F, HT/HS 3.2 compared to 3.1. And the Amzoil TBN at 10.2 is pretty strong as well. If you think that any PAO basestock is some kind of magic bullet, I can assure you it isn't. It is still a petroleum product. The Amzoil XL 7500 should out perform the M1 without breaking a sweat and your wear metals will be considerably lower which is typical for the Gp III basestocks. It's your truck and you can certainly put anything in it you like but when you take the Amzoil back, you will be picking up an oil of lesser value.
Even though the Amsoil XL 7500 is a great product, I feel more comfortable going with something that I have used in the past. Mobil 1 10W30 has been used on our family F-150 (97 4.6L) for nearly 200,000 miles. The compression of the engine is near perfect.
I could only ask as much for my new GT.
I'll be running the oil at 3,000 mile intervals (yes, I know this is extreme for a synthetic
). I fugure any oil at the 3,000 mile interval is going to get me there. I just have piece of mind knowing that Mobil 1 is in there.
Thanks
PS Labnerd- what viscocity are you talking about to get those numbers?
MOBIL 1 IS A FULLY SYNTHETIC PAO BASESTOCK. THERE IN NO ORGANIC DINO OIL IN THIS PRODUCT.
