Did you ever notice how…

Did you ever notice how…

Put a half of ton of camping equipment and 5 adults in my truck and suddenly every rice burner and chuvy in the country wants to run me. I just did a trip to Houston and back and it seems like at every corner, someone wanted to run the truck. I know they can see I’m loaded to the hilt. Is it that important to beat a Ford, even a fully loaded one??
A guy in Galveston in a chuvy dropped his clutch so hard he just sat there and spun, I had the wife and kids in the truck so all I could do is look and laugh…
Truth is that since I put the Scoop on the front, everyone wants to run me. Most of the rice burners are no problem but there are some hot trucks out there. I try real hard NOT to do it. I know there is always someone faster, but…
Man I am going to have to get this engine PRESSURIZED soon…

LOL,I would guess that it's because you intimidate them with the looks of your truck!

I've never been challenged to a stoplight race before and I'd bet it's because my truck is so quiet and looks pretty much stock. Hey, at least you can back up the sporty looks of your truck with good performance.

Is someone considering a built up motor .............

I would have to agree with Le Pew. You challenge their ego when driving your truck. They feel that you are a threat when they look at your hood scoop. Then they provoke you because of their inferiority complex.

basically, they want to assert that they are men when in the presence of an inmasculanizing (word? ) threat.

WLF:

You have to remember that to ricers that hood scoop of yours (very nice looking indeed), but to them they are thinking you just added another 50hp, or maybe it is 30hp, not sure so they figure with that much added hp they may be able to take you when loaded.

As for the Chevy's, well they're just glad to have their trucks off the blocks or out of the shop for a weekend visit, so they would try to take anything, even some guy riding a bicycle...

I think they do it because it is the only time they know they can win.

wittom,
I do need perpective!

LE PEW,
I still have the short block. I think the next purchase will be a charger. I'll bolt it on this tired old engine and see what it will do. If it breaks then... I'll finish the new one.

JMC,
Yea, who can understand RICE??

Some day I am going to hook up a bottle of Soya sauce to a windshield washer pump and go racing. Or is that ricing?

When ever I pull up next to one of them with the Japaneese letting on the side, I look at the side, and think I'll have the #5 with egg rolls.

I have the same problem, the only time I get a challenge is when I have a tandem axle WellsCargo trailer on. Where are these pin heads when I am running empty...

Whatever you do, don't put any yellow performance type stickers on your back glass, ricers figure the are good for about 50 extra ponies. They will come out of the wood work like ants.LOL.

Your going to have to aim those washers high if you want to hit any rice. Will have to clear the truck and come down WAY behind you!!
