Banks intake, catback?

Has anyone installed a Banks intake. They say it gets it's air from the stock fenderwell location thus preventing hot underhood air from being taken into the engine. They quoted me $160.00.
Also has anyone installed the Banks catback. I read a test on intake mods and a Gibson catback done on a 1998 2WD 5.4 Expedition done in Sport Truck magazine. They said the K&N FIPK and the Gibson catback added HP. I can't remember how much but they said it was noticeable. They then installed the Gibson headers and saw absolutely NO increase in TQ or HP on the dyno. They said the 97-98 heads hold the engine back from responding to free flowing mods like intake and exhaust. Banks shows a dyno report for a 1999 5.4 with their intake, catback and headers at 28 HP increase. They couldn't give me any comments on whether it would be lower on the 97-98 5.4.
I haven't seen any threads pertaining to the Banks products but I'm extremely happy with my Banks Trans- Command on my 1997, 5.4 Expedition.

I saw the Banks power curves your talking about at
http://www.rv-truckpower.com/test_results_AF07.cfm

The only concern I had was with the stock numbers. I though the 5.4l was good for 260hp and 350 lbft, not 180hp/260lbft as reported by banks?!?!

Any comments to that?

Yeah,

Banks is talking about RWHP, NOT Flywheel. Figure in 20% or more Drivetrain loss with automatic transmission from Flywheel and you end up with...........ALOT LOWER NUMBERS

Although that seems awfully low though........

My 2000 GT I had dyno'ed with a few mods at 239RWHP and 280RWTQ and most of em dyno'ed stock around 220-225RWHP and 265-270RWTQ with 5 Speed Trannys.

Maybe this give's you somthing to compare it to and see.
