Different take on squeaking belts problem.
I have read other's post on here about squeaking belts after putting in performance mods, and how the Gatorback belt will fix it. My question is a little different though. My belt will chirp during WOT shifts and I thought I will put a Gatorback on like everyone says, but doesn't the slipping sort of reduce some shock to the accessories? I mean it sort of acts a little like a clutch doesn’t it? It sounds crappy but if there is that much of a torque change, isn't the belt slipping absorbing some of it? Also it wouldnt slip at the same place everytime, and only at WOT, so it wouldnt wear through at one spot or anything. I just was thinking and wondered what you all might think.
