MAF on '94 5.8?
MAF on '94 5.8?
hey...I have a check engine light, and narrowed it down to pretty much one thing. Awhile back, i was supposed to race an '84 camaro, and a couple of guys even showed up to see it, but I mistakenly gave them the wrong day..
...anyways, I took out my airfilter for better flow, and drove around all night without one. The next day, i had a CEL...And it's been there for three maybe four months now. I changed the sparkplugs, cleaned my TB, checked for vaccum, and nothing! I was wondering...Where is the MAF sensor on the 5.8L (351W)? I removed the airbox cover, and can't seem to find it! Can anyone help with this? Thanks!

Well what the heck?
Why then would i get a check engine light after removing my airfilter? how does that even make sense? I know for SURE i need wires, a distributor cap, and a rotor. It's running rough, and sometimes runs on only 7 cyls. So any ideas on how after i removed my airfilter, it caused a CEL?
that doesn't really make much sense why it would trigger a CEL but why would you run without the filter in the first place? They are there to protect your engine, without one your looking at 10,000 miles of engine life at max. If your running on 7 cyl then it could mean your not getting fuel or spark. Do the complete tune up including plugs, if that doens't cure it you need to look and see if your getting fuel through all the injectors.
